Child Care Coordinator

Full-time, benefitted position supports and assists participants in the Stage 1 Child Care Program to find and retain child care services in order to have a successful work experience. Will specifically collaborate with County of Humboldt staff on site, to support the successful work participation of CalWORKs clients. Will assist clients through interviewing to identify child care needs and preferences and will follow Changing Tides Family Services policies in providing information to help clients select a child care provider which will enhance the child's development and provide stability to the parent, may contact child care providers on behalf of the parent in order to broker child care and will explain the co-payment concepts to clients. Will maintain accurate data regarding activities and communications with parents and child care providers and will explain the TrustLine process to parents and will assist providers to perform the required TrustLine steps. Will make verbal or written presentations to groups of clients, County of Humboldt staff, and/or community members. Provides services in a variety of settings, including at Family Resource Centers, within Mobile Engagement Vehicles, and at community events in non-office settings. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and skills outlined above is successful completion of college level English classes, 2 years' experience in a position which directly interacts with the general public, and knowledge of child care services delivery modes. Knowledge of the child care system in California is desirable. Must be able to pass a DOJ/FBI level background check, have a valid California driver's license and proof of automobile insurance as well as access to a vehicle for work purposes as you may be required to transport presentation equipment and materials. Other requirements include demonstrated ability to use a calculator or keyboard pad at the minimum speed of 80 strokes per minute and speed of 40 words per minute, flexibility to work occasionally during the evenings, weekends or early mornings as needed. Starts at $14.12 an hour with mileage reimbursement. Mental Health Support Specialist

Part-time, variable scheduled position provides support to children, youth and families in a variety of settings including home, school and community. Provides 1:1 behavior coaching in home, school or community settings and provides referral and linkage to community resources, parent education and support as directed. Requires Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, child development or a related field, 2 years' of work experience with children, youth and families. Associate of Arts degree in one of the listed fields and 4 years of work experience will be considered. Varied scheduling to include weekends, evenings and early mornings at a variety of locations throughout Humboldt County. Starts at $18.00 an hour with mileage reimbursement. Respite Worker

Respite Specialist

Skills Specialist

This intermittent position provides behavioral and support services to children and adults who have developmental disabilities; uses intervention strategies that reflect evidence based practices to increase developmentally appropriate skills as overseen by a behavioral consultant; as assigned, performs personal attendant duties; performs related work as assigned.  Work is generally performed within the focus individual’s residence or (as approved) in community settings.  Starts at $14.25/hour plus mileage reimbursement.
